This web site has been created to provide information on eating distress - including anorexia and bulimia, and guidance on healthy eating. The news, links, information and resources have been selected to be of most use to people living in the southern part of Northern Ireland.

The menu to the left will guide you through the different sections of "Soul Food".

Adapt, Craigavon and Banbridge Community Health and Social Services Trust and the Southern Area Health Promotion Department have collaborated to produce this component of the "Good Health Information" web site.

Breea Ross - founder of Adapt
Adapt is a voluntary organisation established in January 2000 by Breea Ross in association with the Craigavon Health Information Project. Breea was concerned for local people who were affected by Anorexia and Bulimia due to the lack of specialist services and information on eating distress in the area.

Adapt hopes to promote greater understanding and awareness of eating distress such as Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa.
The Association provides help and support to people with eating distress as well as their friends and family through self help/support groups. These groups meet regularly in the Craigavon area.

Help and advice is also available on a one-to-one basis through outreach services and the drop-in centre in Lurgan.

Adapt provides a help-line available to everyone.
